Just a general topic to see what people are listening to at the moment.
I recently ordered "Surgeon - Whose Bad Hands Are These?" parts I and II on Dynamic Tension. Pretty neat series of remixes from Autechre, Vex'd and Monolake. See on Boomkat here:

On the hip-hop tip I picked up Brother Ali's new record 'The Undisputed Truth' on Rhymesayers Entertainment. More great stuff from the albino emcee.
What have you picked up recently, or what are you looking forward to getting?

That bad hands part 1 is no bad. I bought it as a present for my brother last month.
Ive actually gone a bit vinyl crazy the last couple of months. Must have bought in the region of 10 or 20 records - my bank balance does not look good. Here are a few of my favourites:
Mike Dearborn - Birds on E remixes (the edge of motion remix is sick, I love it!)
http://www.covert.uk.com/choons.cfm?choon=26451
Anstam - Aeto (this is one dark record. Absolutely amazing. Best release of 2007 so far I reckon.) http://www.boomkat.com/item.cfm?id=30836
Marc Ashken - Skream Remixes (was a bit sceptical about dubstep at first but I'm starting to get into some of Skream's music.

King Biscuit Time - Black Gold (pure classic and on vinyl)
Also a few reggae beasts
Scientist - Scientific Dub
Ras Shiloh - Babylon You Doom

The Bass Clef album on Blank Tapes is doing it for me. Dubstep, bordering on drum+bass in places. But I'll forgive them.
Looking forward to Dubstep Allstars 5 on Tempa mixed by N-Type. He's a good DJ with his own sound. Its out at the end of the month.
That Pan American album "For Waiting, For Chasing" has been on repeat a bit lately, as has the ~scape compilation "But Then Again" (same label as Jan Jelinek, Pole, Bus, Deadbeat, EPO, etc). Both good glacial electronica.
And, no joke, I'd never heard her voice until the day before yesterday, only ever seen her in the papers, but she's great. Amy Winehouse. Really sorry I missed her play here a couple of months ago. But I never listen to the radio so I'd no idea what she sounded like.

I got some of them on vinyl, but I'm in the process of recording all my records. At first I was jsut going to record my old Liberator/SUF stuff that I liked back in the day and sell the records - but the more I get into it the more I like getting rid of physical media.jarman808 wrote:I love the hand on the plow stuff! There's some records in my collection that will be hard to let go of (but that's purely for sentimental reasons), but I think the value is falling too. I bought a record on ebay the other week and I swear a few years ago you'd have got £50 for it, I got it for £12 - could have got lucky I guess.
