Classic and Electronica meet Digital Art @ Bentwaters Airbase, Suffolk, Saturday 9th June, 6:00pm

Part of the 60th Aldeburgh Festival 8 - 24th June 2007

FASTER THAN SOUND 2007

December 1980. Strange lights moved through the forest at Bentwaters Airbase, witnessed by the US military. The incident has become one of the most notorious UFO sightings the UK has ever seen. Access to the airbase has always been largely restricted: until now. Faster Than Sound is a sound experiment joining the dots between musical genres and digital art forms. Artists from a wide variety of backgrounds will collaborate and explore the worlds of electronic music genres, contemporary classical practice and interactive visual arts. A range of installations, musical collaborations, illuminated Cold War buildings and a large dome filled with inspiring sounds will make this a day you won’t forget.

I am sure those who went with me last year will remember we had a fantastic time. Absolutely stunning venue, one of the most surreal and mindblowing places to listen to music I've ever been to.

Here are some pictures from last years Faster Than Sound to whet your appetite:

Playing with a huge metal structure in an even huger hanger:
