Following on from last years sell out second birthday party we are proud to announce an even stronger lineup for the cold month of February 2007 - showcasing some of the biggest artists in the techno and electronic music scene. This time round we are paying special attention to detail and transforming the venue... installing extra lighting and visual screens throughout and bringing in 2 state of the art OHM soundsystems, a mighty 14k upstairs and 7k downstairs... bring your earplugs.

The Attic will play host to a headlining set from British Murder Boys, the joint production / Dj team put together by Birmingham techno legends Surgeon and Regis. British Murder Boys are without a doubt one of the most important techno acts of the moment, regularly headlining shows at the biggest and best techno events and festivals around the world. Expect an intense and angry blend of dark techno that although clearly highlights it's industrial influence never loses it's funk. Also on the bill are Steve and Dave Connor, performing together as the mighty Bitstream, up there with our favourite producers in electronic music and back in town to promote their new album set to drop in early 2007. The brothers first performed for us in 2005 where they made heads spin with their trademark complex and sometimes dark electronic sound and we are chuffed to bits to have them back to play. Support in the Attic that night comes from Skam operative and Autechre tour Dj Rob Hall and SCSI-AV head honcho Daz Quayle, two Djs who have been at the forefront of the UK electronic music scene since day one, along with the usual techno/electro soundtrack from monthly residents Computer Controlled Djs and Mark Turner.

The Thirsty Scholar will be on a more electronic influenced tip with headlining slots from Luke Vibert, Marco Passarani and Ed DMX. Luke is one of the most well known artists operating within the Warp / Rephlex radar and has had a consistent output since his first releases in 1996. He has released on labels as diverse as Ninja Tune, Rephlex, Rising High, Planet Mu and Warp operating under a number of production guises including Wagon Christ, Amen Andrews, Kerrier District and Plug. His Dj set at the birthday party will see him doing what he does best, spinning the finest electro, techno, electronica and jungle on his laptop. Fresh from his headlining performance at the Warp Christmas party, Marco Passarani is flying in from Rome to play his Manchester debut. Marco has been at the forefront of the Italian techno scene since his first 1993 release, taking his electro and broken beat influenced sound all over Europe and collaborating with the likes of I-f and Holland's Clone crew, AFX's Rephlex and Manchester's own Skam label. Also on the bill is Rephlex legend and Breakin' main man Ed DMX, a Sequence favourite who always tears up the dancefloor. Support in the Scholar on the birthday comes from Plex resident Dj James Tec, and Human Shield CEO Peter Mangalore.
A really solid line-up. I have never seen Bitstream before so am slightly tempted to make the journey up north to check it out.
