WIDE Records & WIDER Records will be hosting a joint party featuring live acts and DJs to celebrate the release of "WIDE Presents" (WIDER) and "The UK Bass EP" (WIDE) at an intimate venue in East London on Bank Holiday Sunday 28th May.
PART 1: WIDER
The first half of the evening is hosted by WIDER RECORDS, featuring artists on our roster performing in stripped back fashion. UNIT kick off with a couple of songs sound-tracking the naughties urban landscape. ROBOT whisk us away to trippy and gorgeous Americana coupled with some virtuoso acoustic accompaniments before JBT changes tack with laidback electronic sunshine grooves. EMMA MCGLYNN (without her Monorails) previews dark and disturbing subject matter from her eagerly anticipated second album, "The Murder Set", whilst hotly tipped label mates THE HIGH WIRE give us an anthemic update on Spaceman 3 diverted via Nashville. BANDINI switch off their electronics and pick up an acoustic guitar bringing new life to their broken pop classics. We have no idea what to expect from THE INSTITUTE OF APE CULTURE, except that it will be exceptional... And then STAZI drop in from Manchester to bring the whole night down to their level of dirty northern soul, funk and sleaze, before we hand the party over to WIDE RECORDS.....
PART 2: WIDE
And that's when the booze kicks in.... From Midnight WIDE Records presents an exclusive UK Bass showcase featuring DJ CUTLASS SUPREME, DEBASSER & PAUL BLACKFORD playing live versions of new material and classics from WIDE Records' esteemed back catalogue. The label will be celebrating the imminent release of its fourth digital EP and to celebrate we'll be giving away some ltd edition CD mixes. Performances will be interspersed with DJ support from the legendary OLI DOUBLE D SECLUNA before WIDE DJs end the night on a boozy high with an all out party set crammed with booty bouncing bass classics. Due to the capacity of the venue, this event is invite only but we are releasing a strictly limited number of £6 tickets for purchase on a first come first served basis.
