John Peel plays Ed Chamberlain

Post by matthew slow »

in my continued obsession with radio1's listen again button I have discovered that our favourite uncle John Peel played something by Ed Chamberlain off the Basslogic CD last night (13/8/04) - here's a link >

it's about 45 minutes in, and he's also been playing a whole load of Shitmat recently as well.

Now how do I get a copy of that CD???

Ahh good stuff for both Ed and Baselogic.
The CD has got some really nice stuff on actually. I think they were pretty limited initially to the number of copies, but I'll let you take a listen if you're interested.

yeah that'd be kewl - I did see a copy once with the little green foldy-uppy insert thing - can you (shhh!) burn one and get it round to the world HQ?

while I'm on it - if you know anybody electronic/audio-visual that needs a show I am now putting together a bonfire night extravaganza in the Arts Centre bar so all contacts/demos welcomed! So far confirmed RandomNumber out of Leeds, who was last seen supporting Kid606 and DJ/Rupture at Kafe Da last summer.

we have about 5 copies of that CD left and it is being archived on mp3 on the website this week. The track peel played was an early incarnation of shadow of the beast which has now been fully sequenced, edited and remastered - a copy of that will also go up this week. We are releasing a 4 track EP on vinyl in the autumn of his some new and considerably stronger material. Kieth Tenniswood compared a promo of the EP to early aphex twin stuff. Releases are also in the pipeline on ADJ's Pyrammid transmissions label and the WANG label if it ever gets off the ground. Baselogic 2 is going to be a 6 track EP by paul blackford (some of you may have heard his first release on DMX KREW's breakin' records imprint) followed by another 12 inch from norwich boy synapse whose first release is currently being mastered for leeds based CALYX records - this will be a compilation with tracks by debasser, cutlass supreme and synapse. All of this stuff takes time and putting on club nights, moving house, doing uni etc. really gets in the way - but look out for the records when they finally make it into the shops in the autumn.

Jesus Christ boy, do you ever stop? Go on holiday or something, you're making Uncollected feel bad.

S'all looking good though, well looking forward to hearing some more Synapse stuff.

Whereabouts are you living in Brighton next year? I have a flat off Lewes Road.
