Slow meets Rephlex (again) on 30th June

Post by matthew slow »

having been evicted from the old Kafe Da by the black-clad, beret-sporting jazz cliche-mongers, we announce our move to our new residence:

slow magazine and Rephlex records present...
BOGDAN RACZYNSKI + SOUNDMURDERER + MIAMI BEAT ALLIANCE live
at the Waterfront (upstairs) on 30th June 2004. £5 on the door

our biggest space ever, so put on your raving shoes and come on down.

merci!

ahah don't worry Lew, there may be another chance for you.

Requests - I would LOVE it if anyone could find a Gollum mask again. That was hilarious. I also understand there is a similar "old man" mask that you can get, one of these would do fine, perhaps with a driving hat upon your peak.

It's TOMORROW, yay! Don't miss it.

Fantastic night; really enjoyed myself.
Well done to the Slow Mag guys for putting on the night, really great sets from both Soundmurderer and Bogdan.

I have to give a shout out to the Miami Beat Alliance who not only performed a great set, (bring on those hardcore pop remixes) but also managed to coax people from the back and get the people dancing. Their excellent costumed fight of Mohammed vs. Jesus Christ was hilarious. "Come on Jesus!"

twas a well good night, took a while to get going and to dislodge everyone from the bar area but mba played some nice tunes and were thoroughly entertaining......dont dig soundmurders junglaist vibes too much but the attack of gabba towards the end of his set was sweet, bogdan was top notch too.

there was an after party in a warehouse down near the ten bells which was a bit of a trip but a good way to top the night off.

i was sick this morning for the first time in about 10 years......my stomache couldnt handle teh milk

thank you all for your kind words and contributions! We had a grand time and amazingly made exactly the right amount of money to break even (no profit, no loss, our new solid gold world HQ will have to wait).

Much thanks to MBA and setwin for the audio visual onslaught, and for getting the paty started right. Thanks to Bogdan and Mr Murderer for bringing the noise. Like Eric said - you were wonderful toniiiight!!

Next Slow event - the second AV feast in the Norwich Arts Centre bar on August 6th. Full line up TBC but very likely to include the retina burning antics of setwin and maybe further electronix imported from Cambridge for the evening. If you have sounds and want to share them please email me and we might be able to get you on the bill.
