Manc 7/11-ELECTRODE WAREHOUSE PARTY-LIEF RYAN, CYNTHIA STERN

We've always believed in keeping things fresh. As much as we enjoyed our two years at the Attic, we felt it was time for a change. So as soon as we came across this venue, a perfectly-sized warehouse just off Gt Ancoats St, we knew it was a winner.

If you've ever been to an Electrode you'll know exactly what we're about. Good fun (if slightly chaotic), coupled with some no-nonsense electronic dirt.

Our Data-Trace/Futuresonic special back in May with SI BEGG and TIM WRIGHT was off the hook so this time we've invited over a few more from the label roster.

LIEF RYAN is no stranger to Manchester. In the past he's guested at Locked, Futuresonic, Micron and Alien Radio. His sound? Techno meets breakbeat meets electro on a purely analogue set up featuring drum machines, mics and on occasion, GameBoys. His set at NYE’s Sequence vs Locked was really something to behold, so we're proud to announce the Growth Recordings boss is back in town to do what he does best.

Joining Lief for his debut appearance in Manchester all the way from Sweden is the Input-Output head honcho CYNTHIA STERN. His label has been responsible for some mind-bending releases over the last few years with a discography that includes releases from Jason Leach, Tim Wright, Dave Tarrida and the Wee DJs to name but a few. Quite simply, off-centre techno at it's finest.

Ed SMASHBACK has been getting busier and busier of late. His label Bass Gun is fast becoming one of the most dependable outlets for forward-thinking, dancefloor-geared electro whilst a heavy gig schedule has seen him take his live sets to Croatia, Malta, Glasgow and err Scarborough. With his new night PRESENT only just around the corner, catch this man while he’s hot!

Testing out the soundsystem with some ultra- low frequency action will be TEUTONIC KABOOM. Another member of the Data-Trace gang who’s been pretty busy both on the production and gigging front, her unique hybrid of breakbeat, dubstep and electro always goes down a storm.

Joining us on the night will be the SQUELCH DJs. These chaps have come long way fast since the launch of their night at The Attic earlier this year taking their sublime blend of house and techno to some of Manchester’s most respected parties. Most definitely worth catching.

Our residents JOEL ATTACK and VARICOSE VIENS will be getting things started from 11 onwards.

We’ll be revealing the exact location to this slightly nearer the event, so keep your eyes peeled here and check our Myspace and Facebook pages for more details.

Hope to see you there. 8)
