WANG Bank Holiday Special Sat 3rd May

Post by electro elvis »

Hello people
We're putting on a WANG Bank Holiday special on Saturday 3rd May
With the extra day off giving plenty of time for a full recovery!

Special guests:

Simian Mobile Disco - chart bound electro-pop stars SMD still know how to rock a party! Come see them getting down and dirty, in a much more intimate venue than their megastar status normally allows.

Alexander Robotnick - there are not many artists around who can reliably claim to be hailed as an inspiration by not only the great and the good of the detroit techno community, but also most house, electro and disco producers worth their salt. Alexander Robotnick released the italo-disco cult classic "Problèmes d'amour" way back in 1983, and he's still rockin dance floors with a unique blend of funky party tunes today. He played for us last December and totally blew us away, and we've been gagging to get him back ever since.

Jim Masters (Hi Tek Soul) - Jim is a true stalwart of the UK techno community. Over the years he's promoted the long running Ultimate Base nights and is currently part of the Hi-Tek Soul collective, alongside Derrick May, putting on parties at Ministry Of Sound and touring the known universe.

Jake One - Live (Toob) - Jake first came to prominence providing electronic accompaniment to Red Snapper's live outings. He went on to become one half of Toob with Richard Thair and will be performing live.

Uncle Buck - these guys are gonna blow up big real soon, catch'em now before stardom calls and they disappear off into the stratosphere.

Hefty - long time WANG regular Hefty has been bugging us for a gig for literally years, and we finally got around to sorting it out. For all you old faces out there, come see one of you WANGers make his WANG debut.

Lukey Roots - providing WANG with his dubwise goodvibes, it wouldn't be the same without Lukey.

Electro Elvis & Lula - your hostesses with mostesses Lula and Elvis with be running around like headless chickens, same as usual, and if they are lucky might even get to play some records and have a dance.

To be held at Corsica Studios
Unit 5 Elephant Road Se17 1LB
(2 mins from Elephant&Castle tube)
£10 Advance tickets

this looks to be a bit of a winner. Got six tics yesterday so quite a few Norwich crew are heading down. Anyone else?

I am not going to make it unfortunately, but from what I have heard there is a decent sized Norwich contingent raining in on the big city.

Have a great night!
