Mike Dred, (aka Chimera, Judge Dred and the Kosmik Kommando) makes acid-tinged experimental techno geared both for the dancefloor and for home listening. A member of the U.K.'s extended North Country experimental techno family (which also includes. Reload, the Aphex Twin, and Matt Herbert), Dred has recorded for a variety of different labels, including R&S, R&S offshoot Diatomyc (which he helped run), and his own Machine Codes label, the bulk of Dred's material though has appeared on Aphex Twin's
Rephlex imprint, mostly under the Kosmik Kommando and Chimera names. Dred's penchant for harsh, relentlessly experimental acid and techno fit neatly into the beginning of Richard D James Rephlex vision, and Dred's first Kosmik Komanndo EP was among the first 12-inches the label released. Dred's Rephlex discography has since grown to include many release under his different psueudynoms. This will be Mike's first appearance in Berlin in many years.
Manasyt (Bunker Records, Holland - Monox Records , UK , Touchin Bass -UK)
Bulgarian "Manasyt" is as influenced by thrash metal bands such as Voivod and Godflesh as he is the post-industrial techno sounds of Ultradyne. Taking influence from the time he spent living in Detroit, Manasyt mixes the darker sounds of Detroit electro with complex industrial electro and techno that is completely a style of his own. Manasyt has built up a considerable body of work in a relatively short space of time, on labels such as Roulette Rekordz, Touchin' Bass, Bunker and Kommando 6. Manasyt live performace is very powerful, he was one of the most mentioned names for best performancs at the massive Bloc Weekender Festival in the UK this year. We are looking forward to bringing him to Berlin.
Dan Monox (Monox-Rub A Dub Records Scotland) DJ Set
By day Dan is the vinyl buyer for the illustrious Rub a Dub records in Glasgow, by night he is the promoter and resident of Glasgows most respected and underground techno night Monox which has played hosts to some of the worlds finest DJ’s and live acts including Terence Fixmer, Hacker , DJ Funk, Underground Resistance, Woody McBride and Scan 7. Dan’s own productions and legendary DJ sets have netted him fans from across the globe and respect from leading figures in underground dance music.
Adam X-(Sonic Groove , Rustlblade- Berlin- NYC) DJ Set
Coming up on his one year anniversary of living in Berlin after leaving his former hometown of Brooklyn NYC.. Adam has settled into Berlin rather well. One of his top missions here besides performing live & djing around the EU is sometimes organizing events at Maria. His vision is one of bringing artists to perform at Maria who have highly reputable careers & record discographies but yet someone how never seem to play live here in Berlin. Adam's history dates back to 1990 and subsequently was one of the first American dj's along with Mills & Hawtin to perform in Germany on a regular basis starting in 1992. Adam is also owner of the Sonic Groove Record label which has released many highly acclaimed techno acts such as Kevin Saunderson, Blake Baxter, Oliver Lieb , Neil Landstrumm & Frankie Bones to name a few.
