Damn, that's pretty insane. Not sure if it's purposeful or not, but the chute sure does burn in an instant.
Have you seen the not so happy video of the basejumper leaping from a damn and running into some serious problems? We get to see all of the proceedings from the camera on his helmet. -not nice-
