Who's going to Baselogic on Friday 7th?
Looks like the perfect way to get back those New Years Eve vibes.

I am muchisimo tempted, as I feel a party-vibe running through my veins at the moment. Are you guys all going down?

I will be at Baselogic Tonight with some like minded fellows, if anyone else is there, it should be a heavy night.

Im afraid Base Logic was a bit of a let down. Simple, slow 4/4 techno all night.
Warlock's set consisted of grimy break, 4/4 techno, grimy break, 4/4 techno, grimy break, 4/4 techno, grimy break, 4/4 techno etc.
To be nice I'll quote what someone on the dance floor said to me - "its a bit indecisive".
Come on guys, I know you probably want to attract a wider audience but you're not pleasing the hardcore electronica fans. You can tell you need to speed it up when the craziest people on the dancefloor are a couple men in their mid 40s.
On a positive note, the venue had a cool dancefloor and the DJing was solid through out even if it was a little plain.

It wasn't 'techno' as a genre, it was the type - the whole night sounded like a warm-up set.
I also like techno.

Sorry you found that mate - what did you make of Paul Blackford & Ed Chamberlain's live sets?
Also, I'm not being funny but only really one of the DJs played what could be described as a "slow 4/4 techno" set and that was at 10pm....

I wasn't there so I can't comment first hand, but I would be very surprised if it was as sombre as you suggest on the dancefloor. The Medicine Gun EP is a quality release and having seen Ed perform live on a number of occasions I definitely think it's something to get excited by. Blackford always delivers aswell.
Was it a healthy turnout overall and what's next for delta-9 parties?

Yeah there was a really good turnout! I have to admit we were expecting it to be really empty being the week after new years eve. It couldn't have gone better really.
I am just about to do a post with the details of the next one in a seperate thread.
Sorry you didn't enjoy it A.V personally I thought the music was great. I was playing minimal techno and electronica near the start but the rest of it was fairly banging i thought.

first of all... it wasn't BaseLogic.. it was delta-9.
secondly, Ed and Paul were ace, no two ways about it
thirdly -- Warlock was alright, it really depends if you like that sort of thing.
good club, good soundsystem, good party. well done suzie.
we've got loads of gigs coming up in brighton. check

Sorry, i don't mean to make a fuss but...
'slow 4:4 techno all night' --- are sure you were at the same club as me cos i heard high quality abstract electronics, fast miami bass music followed by filthy twostep grime and a bit of rough drum&bass.
Still, as my mum keeps reminding me... Its all bleeps and whistles anyway

I'm sorry guys, I didn't mean to knock the night as much as my post may have suggested.
I definately think that the night had a lot of positives, including the crowd and soundsystem.
I think maybe I was just expecting something a bit faster. But hey you can't please everyone, and I'm just one guy, and there were definately others there loving it. (The friends I was there with were hoping for a bit of gabba to creep in though).
It probably didn't help that it was my first Electronica night after Wang NYE!
OR maybe I'm just used to Uncollected rinsing me hardcore back-to-front and side-to-side!
