There is a Sunday mutiny afoot!


"In the spirit of democracy and soundness (with a respectful and grateful nod to the bloc organisers) a group of us have rejected the proposed fancy dress theme of "the big day" and replace it with "computer game characters". Imagine how colourful Sunday Bloc will look with this theme in full swing. Streetfighter and Tekken battles will be breaking out all over the place and Pacmen and women will be gobbling up everything in their paths!

Personally, i have been to 4 weddings recently and have more planned for next year. My wedding suit needs a rest! If you agree please join our group and spread the word!

There is almost an endless list of interesting, fun and hilarious costumes. Think Mario, Princess, Toad, Donkey Kong, Ryu, Ken, Gordon Freeman, Princess Leah, Indiana Jones, Pacman, Mrs Pacman, Altair, Lara Croft, Sonic, Carl Johnson, Tommy Vercati, Guybrush Threepwood etc etc"

I've already planned to dress up as Guile at a wedding!

i think the point is that you can wear whatever you want on any day? it's a festival do what you want. i'm going wedding, computer game characters is proper nerdy and lame, come on ppl.
besides theres barely anyone in that facebook group anyway.

Was thinking of coming as Emperor Ming in wedding garb, (mainly cos I've already got the costume) but I can see my evenings taken up creating a QBert costume now!

The Bloc team do a fantastic job organising this amazing festival, which we are very grateful for; I'm sure they won't mind if we inject a bit of colour and creativity into the Sunday's proceedings!

We have over 70 members which I think is pretty good since we only came up with the idea on Thursday. Anyway I'm hoping there will be a lot more after we post about it here!

This is a much better theme.

Agreed. I'm sure you could get creative with the wedding theme but there are so many more fun possibilities with this theme. I'm even more excited than I was now! I'm gonna go as ALL the computer game characters.
