(DUBLIN) Sleeparchive & Substance @ Test, Friday, July 1
Posted: Sat Jun 21, 2008 1:19 pm
Hi,
hope you are well.
Friday, July 18th sees a special techno double header at Test as the real sound of Berlin comes to Dublin's Underground.
Mysterious Berlin producer(s) Sleeparchive is one of the world's most respected techno artists.
With a respected series of stripped back, bleepy releases on his eponymous label, remixes for Modeselektor, Monolake and Rhythm & Sound as well as appearances on Richie Hatwin's pre-beard and haircut mix CDs, the Sleepy one's talents are more in demand than an Italian ket dealer's services at DC10.
Sleeparchive rocked Test when he made his Irish debut for us last year, and we're delighted that he'll be dropping more tonal frequencies for us to laptop up.
It doesn't end there folks: completing second part of this Hardwax party puzzle is Substance on DJ support.
Known to his mum as Peter Kuschnereit or just DJ Pete to his fans, he released the seminal 'Relish' and 'Scent' records on Chain Reaction in the 90s, and. together with Vainqueur, whom he collaborated with as Scion, now runs and releases on the excellent Scion Versions label.
With access to records that would make even Francois K look like a tricolour-wearing Fergie fan and mad skills to match Jeff Mills, Pete is going to tear up the Berlin-Chicago-Detroit-Crumlin techno axis like no one else.
Warm-up duties come from Test residents Jay Galligan and Richard Brophy.
The fun and games start at 10.30pm.
Get there early to avoid disappointment!
