Ok once you have heard this song once it enters your mind and never leaves it. Dubstep DJs seem to pitch it up and down and slip it into the background of tracks to get people smiling. I sing it in my head when I am glum.
The question is why the hell is it so damn catchy!?
Keeping it simple appears to be the name of the game here methinks

I am sure we were all humming this at BLOC. Someone would break out with it just as as you'd got it out of your mind.
I think it's the long repeated single note, then the downward scaled notes that provide the catchiness-factor.

Good description Mr Madrid, I also just think that dubstep beat is pretty infectious!
I'm sure there are tons of psychology people that can tell you what makes a song catchy... just look how many 'catchy' commercials there are on TV.
"MRIs show that a catchy song makes the auditory part of the brain 'itch,' and the only way the itch can be scratched is by listening to the song."
Barsom listed several factors that might cause a song to be catchy.
"A certain familiarity -- similarity to music one already knows -- can play a role," he explained. "Unfamiliar music doesn't connect well. It's harder to own, especially on first listen."
Taking familiarity a step further, Barsom added that a cultural connection between music and listener can make a tune more memorable. To listeners of a certain generation, for example, the music of the Beach Boys opened up a whole new world of summer and surfing.
Interesting.
