Somebody told me it isn't allowed to take food with you when you're travelling to the UK by plane. I've never heard this, is it true?

As far as I know you can take food but not liquids. dunno for sure tho'

You should be alright as long as it's pre packaged and not in large quantities. For example, a box of chocolates.
