Slowness and/or weird messages on the forum

The server that houses the forum is stumbling a bit at the moment. I am making arrangements to get it moved to some new hosting, so if seems to have disappeared you now know why.
In the mean time please just grin and bear it.

just out of curiosity......
why are the last 6 pages of the events section kept up? they must be contributing to the slowness of this site and they are of no use to us.....
or are you the sentimental type who likes to peruse through the backlog of events on a rainy day, all misty eyed... "memories"
just a thought...

Hehe.
I suppose I keep them there as some of them still have photos of past events and, a bit of nostalgia never killed anyone. (I think.)
The main problem relating to the slowness is due to the server stumbling along on it's last legs. Zimmer frame is in full effect, and I still haven't got round to moving it.
I'll get on it soon enough.
