NO! That was a friend who banged up 43 doses of calf spaff to impress that one legged milkman's bird from Beccles. Silly moo had a thing about maps, came from being lied to about where she was born. My mate was never the same, started barfing milk and went in on himself. He released a few albums under the moniker 'squarepusher' but no-one was that into them and I think he just withered away into a wispy fart.

I was the guy standing behind the rig wearing one red wellington and a snorkel. I was biting and scratching at the DJ, in floods of tears because I wasn't allowed to play my Pink Purple Pony 8.5'' - bit of a mis-judged move but I'd had a few Goat Pellets and was off my bananas.

I met you when we were waiting for our mums to pick us up at 4pm when the jelly ran out. Which reminds me - send my love ;)

How good was Dj Assault?

Cheers Wang...travelling 170 miles for a gig (and a few days off) seemed a bit excessive at the time, but Mr Assault made it all worth it.

Quality nite...+ it's nice to know other folks play booty bass (not just myself)

Gah, what a corker. DJ Assault tore the ass off the club I've had such little sleep since then every time I close my eyes I see his big stoopid face singing 'ASSASSASS...'

Paul Blackford deserves a mention too, what a laptop legend - did I miss Edmund Chamberlaine?

cheers man

everyone involved had a wicked night - I really hope we can put out a few more paul blackford tunes in the future the guy's a legend

did anyone see the queue of girls hoping for a bit of assault lovin' when he came off the decks? The guy was fighting them off...

yes I did see a gang of tarts foaming at the mouth for a bit of Alabama blacksnake (Full Metal Jacket, anyone?) and thought it was fucking hysterical.

Anyone else bollocks over on the dancefloor?

One of my mates knows someone who broke their leg at that club. That dancefloor's a hazard.

Cheers to everyone that came down, and to the house party afterward.

Well you said I was banned from all BL events and I was there.
(I'm sad to say!)

Assault was alright but was on way too long. The 2 x support was average at best. Highlight was the girl who had a pop @ him for his "insulting shit" (did anyone else see that? WELL funny!)
And the scene needs a bit of unity, not pointless unfounded criticism.
: I find this quite an ignorant comment: if we don't criticise, standards get very sloppy (as the Assault night proved)

Maybe Mr Hull is secretly pissed @ paying the earth for a "super American dj" who didn't live up to expectations?
I have my ways, don't you worry.
: and this I find just plain dumb!

I've been a Wang regular for a while now...I think they may have lost it too!

Whoa!

This was my first Baselogic event so I'm unaware of their usual standards, but I must say I really enjoyed it!
Even my girlfriend (who despises booty bass) enjoyed herself.
Assault was on a bit longer than I expected but he's like...Dj Assault!

I kinda know what you meant, Ben & Booty: Dj Assault seems like a novice compared to, say Dj Godfather or Waxmaster...but the man put on a show, tore the club up and got me dancing like a madman (even signed all me vinyl!)...that should be applauded.

Like said before...that's only IMO! Critism is a good thing.

nah, jonny's got it right

there was no way that assault didn't live up to my expectations - I expected him to play hard, fast booty bass like a master of the genre. He played hard, fast booty bass like a fucking wizard on the decks - a capacity crowd can't be wrong.

You've made another glaring error when you say that wang have lost it - look out for secret summer operations everybody else

I don't even know what you're quoting Booty, but it really does seem you are stirring shit for the sake of it.

I've never been disapointed with a Baselogic night (especially the Brighton ones - DMX Krew was immense) and I'm hardly the biggest fan of the genres played.

You want to see an unprofessional night, come to Uncollected, style over substance is our motto!

Sorry for critising...I guess I should say everything is great...even if it isn't!

YO

Assualt was exactly as we expected him to be - really entertaining (and certainly not the sharpest tool in the box). We had about 350 people in which is ultimately what matters down here. I really like all that ghettotech gear its a lot of fun but i guess you could call it a bit 2 dimensional.. if i wanted to hear some high quality music i would have booked someone else but it ain't all about intelligent dance music. In this case we wanted to put on a high profile gig in a big plush club and make a bit of money to go towards putting out vinyl (and pay the flipping rent) - i certainly wasn't in anyway disappoiinted in that respect.

mr bootywise: you're not really banned from my nights i was only taking the piss. i would dearly love to know who you are though. Sorry you weren't that into the support acts, I actually missed all of them but know for a fact that paul blackford is the don. We got assualt to play for 2 hours because we flew him from detroit and wanted to get our money's worth!

Thanks for your continued support in attending wang and our events and i can assure you that neither are going down hill -- we've only just got started. Perhaps you'd like to join our mailing list to be kept up to date with all of our summer operations.... next weekends party in norfolk will surely not be one to miss...
