Hemsby has a special place in my heart, but the beach and surroundings at Minehead look phenomenal.
This is a google image of the site, just check out the proximity and size of the beach!
Link is
here if you want to check it yourself.

It's a good point, but I'm already booked in for Bloc - just meant I doubt much sunbathing/swimming in the sea is going to be on the cards *brrr*

It should be pointed out that Butlins Minehead was the venue for Britain's strongest man 2008. This involved tossing large kegs of beer over high jumps and the always gripping 'rolling over the car' competition.
Also Minehead was the inspiration for the famous hymn 'All Things Bright And Beautiful'.
So I think you'll agree that Minehead is worth a visit even without the amazing bloc weekend.

Hmmm. As James says Minehead has a lot going for it - but I would miss Hemsby, big time, going down there last year for a pint at the local, into the thick fog with the place deserted was like something from a zombie horror film. Nothing can really top the total inbred-ness of the place. And as someone else mentioned, isnt the capacity of minehead double that of the Norwich venue? Part of Bloc's charm is bumping into the same people again and again over the course of the three days, its so small and easily accessible that you meet the same faces over and over. Making it twice as big... I dunno... might kill the vibe... I was at an ATP before, didnt register the same fun memories that Bloc did.
Either way I wont be there for it (more than likely, I'm on the wrong side of the Atlantic this year) so have fun!
