Re: BLOC 2010 first names!
yeah thats what i read in my last email too
Re: BLOC 2010 first names!
From the first announcement email:
"ps. we're sorry for taking so long to get this out but better late than never eh? There will be another late announcement next week "
So who knows? I guess 'next week' includes up until Sunday.
Probably saving this one for Tinchy Stryder
I would love to see Blotnik Bros / Diplomat / Placid on the next release - it needs more electro

Re: BLOC 2010 first names!
Bloc have announced thee second round of names for next year's event, with plenty of focus on the bassier end of the dance music spectrum.
Pinch's Subloaded night will again host a stage after last year's success on the opening night, bringing along Kode9, Mary Anne Hobbs, Distance and Mungo's Hi-Fi as well as Bristol residents Appleblim, Peverelist and Blazey, with T++ also making the trip over from Berlin to perform a rare live set. Frequent Glade curators Overkill will also make their third consecutive Bloc appearance with sets from Luke Vibert, Gescom member Rob Hall and jungle stalwart Congo Natty.
London's bass music community will be represented by Rinse FM and their FWD party, with grime (Boy Better Know), dubstep (Youngsta, N-Type, Chef) and funky (Roska, Marcus Nasty, Geeneus) all featuring, while Braindrop will balance the slinky garage vibes of MJ Cole with wobble-happy bass music (Raffertie, Kanji Kinetic) and drum & bass (DJ Hype).
Smaller promoters will also be getting their own mini-showcases, with D:Bridge and Instra:mental showcasing their forward-thinking drum & bass, Mulletover providing some tech-house (with the help of Lee Curtiss and organiser Geddes) and Man Make Music hosting Joy Orbison's slinky anthemic dubstep. Disco Bloodbath will offer some relief from all the pounding beats, while Alden Tyrell will fly in to appease fans of vintage italo and electro.
BPitch Control boss Ellen Allien has also been added to the main stage, but if her style isn't tough enough for you, DJ Rush will be on hand to pump out some high energy techno stompers. For all of the other additions, check out Bloc's RA event page.

Excellent additions, can't wait for Alden Tyrell for some pumping electro.
Re: BLOC 2010 first names!
Liking the look of the lineup - more to get excited about from this announcement. How much more is there to come now?
I'm looking forward to checking out some of the upfront stuff from 16-bit / kanji kinetic and similar. Please to see AGT, Jerome Hill, Lusinda, Dexorcist & Bass Junkie & Placid on there too. That's at least 6 hours of quality leap-time sorted.
Hoping for some oldskool acieed/chicago vibes too. woopedy.

and yes. it's starting to look like the line up to support why i've spent the last 8 months telling anyone who would listen why they should spatchbloc.

Yep, looking good alright. Loads of decent names in there. Better start hassling people here to go.
