Warp & Dedbeat Christmas Party - Sat 22nd December

Post by james »

Hello All,

Never ones to shy away from Christmas bandwagon jumping, we're taking over the rather opulent Great Eastern Hotel for a festive night of across-the-board musical offerings.

Warp & Dedbeat Christmas Party
The Great Eastern Hotel. 40 Liverpool St EC2.
Sat 22nd December. 7pm-Late.
**Early Doors!**
3 rooms, Funktion One Sound, Pub Bar Prices.

ANDREW WEATHERALL
Who needs no introduction.
Click http://music.guardian.co.uk/electronic/ ... 77,00.html for an interesting piece in last weekend's Guardian.

MARTIN RUSHENT (The Human League)
British legend, best known for his production on The Human League's classic 'Dare' album. As the League Unlimited Orchestra he recorded the 'Love and Dancing' LP - a proto-electro/house classic and a masterpiece of tape editing that rivals anything Arthur Baker was doing at the time. With new music on Tirk recordings, Martin Rushent is back.

THE OSCILLATION - live
With past and future collaborations with the likes of Chrome Hoof and Tim Holmes from Death In Vegas, The Oscillation looks set to expand into wider circles into 2008 and beyond.krautrock psych vibes.

BROADCAST - dj set
Trish and James from Broadcast offer up an extremely rare DJ set and a glimpse into their world of dancefloor psych-pop, French and British electronic arcana, moog and library music.

SHACKLETON - live
Live set from one of the dubstep scene's biggest talents, and the man behind the Skull Disco imprint. Intricate, snaking percussion, hypnotic melodies, seriously deep bass lines and dubwise sensibilities.

DANTON EEPROM
"Danton Eeprom's 'Confessions of an English Opium Eater' proves that dance music is still alive" Andrew Weatherall
The flamboyant frenchman from Marseille, now resident in London, whose brand of sinuous, jacking electro has been championed by Ivan Smagghe, Erol, the aforementioned Lord Sabre and more.

TODDLA T
Cut Toddla T open and you'll be vaporized by the pure Sheffield electronics crackling inside him. Mentored by original Warp cohorts Chris Duckenfield, Pipes and Ross Orton, the Steel City musical heritage bubbles through this young rascal's DJ stints, remixes for the likes of Kid Acne, and original night-time material. Expect Bassline, Bleeps, Bashment and 'Niche'.

LEILA
With albums for Rephlex and XL Recordings behind her, and a new album forthcoming on a very well-known and respected UK indie label (hint), Leila presents her unique blend of crackling electronics, hip-hop and smoky vocal lines.

HONKEYFINGER - live
Primal, pounding, souped-up, skronked out one-man blues racket extraordinaire. If you like Seasick Steve you'll like this guy. www.honkeyfinger.com

Tickets £12.50 from www.warprecords.com or Phonica Records Soho.
Limited capacity.
