Post by stormfield »

Heads-up to all the digital souljahs: fresh Combat downloads are now available on ADDICTECH

These include releases COMBAT09, 11 & 12 which were previously available only on vinyl*.

COMBAT09 :: HAIKU

[listen] Stormfield original version
[listen] Monkeysteak remix
[listen] Blackmass Plastics swordsteppa VIP
[listen] Ed Chamberlain remix
[listen] Point B's Downpour version

"Lethal" (Ed Chamberlain remix) - Mary Anne Hobbs, Breezeblock, Radio One

"Stormfield's original track recalls vintage Photek with martial arts samples creating a slow, cinematic rhythm. Monkeysteak turns it techy 2-step; Ed Chamberlain goes filthy electro; Blackmass Plastics do a militant dubstep wobbler; and Point B manages to somehow fuse dubstep and broken beat… And it all works together just fine." - Mixmag

COMBAT011 :: VENGEFUL GHOSTS

[listen] ScanOne - Skip (remixed by Blackmass & Cursor Miner)
[listen] Cursor Miner - Carnivore (Milanese remix)
[listen] Ekaros - Atoms

"Electro, nu skool breaks, dubstep, ragga, electronica – Combat's bass-heavy sound is all and neither of these, but is very recognizable and perfectly suited to dark basements. On this EP, Blackmass remixes Cursor Miner's remix of ScanOne (!) into Bladerunner-y electro, while the mighty Milanese drag Cursor Miner's own work into evil dubstep sludge, and Ekaros mines equally dubby tunnels. " - Mixmag / March 07

COMBAT012 :: SCANONE TOOLKIT PART 1
Image
[listen] ScanOne - LBW Punk
[listen] ScanOne - Trotter
[listen] ScanOne - Ginger Monkey
[listen] ScanOne - Cutter's Choice

"Combat man Scan One with 4 fresh new cuts of electro/ breakstep and IDM. He’s been a major player in this sound and this EP is a great view of the various different forms of breakstep. LBW Punk kicks off the ep with a fierce electro track akin to Radioactiveman and the old Rotters Golf Club sound. Trotter has more of an old skool feel, but still with a strong slant towards the ever evolving dubstep and breakstep. Cutter’s Choice shows Scan One’s more mellow and cinematic style but still with a relatively dark electronica edge to it. The dark and brooding Ginger Monkey finishes off this top EP with militant drum breaks and sub bass. - Rik Symmetrik (Hyponik) "

support the music you like... :)

*(Combat10's being re-pressed on vinyl so we're sitting on that a bit longer!)

Nice one, that Ed Chamberlain remix kicks so much ass.

Do you know why there is a price difference in WAV and FLAC as they sound the same and FLAC has the added bonus of smaller filesizes meaning quicker download times?

dunno mate, some stores (like in this case) make their own pricing for each format. FLAC is much easier to buy, I agree!

Wonder when Juno will start selling FLACs hmmm

When they pull their head out I guess. Other than that, it's a solid site.
