SUBHEAD - LIVE!

Jason Leach founded SUBHEAD with Phil Wells (RIP) in the early 1990s who, together with Jamie Lidell for several of the early releases, went on to become one of the most enduring and loved techno acts ever created.

As part of Subhead and as a solo artist, Jason Leach stands on a discography of well over 100 records, prolifically releasing on his own Subhead, Death to Vinyl and Fix UK imprints, as well as cult labels Sativae, Mercurochrome, Input Output Inc, Neue Heimat, Predicaments and Don’t.

"Shrugging off self-promotion and magazine coverage adds to their (Subhead’s) anonymity while intense live-performances have built devoted followings worldwide for anyone seeking Art on the right angle: Punk rock while pure Techno." (Tresor Berlin) “Originally meeting in Shoreditch East London as dispatch riders, their melding of minds cranked up the Subhead warehouse party circuit in 1995 while giving birth to the Subhead label (appropriately aboard a Russian nuclear submarine). That year also brought in third-Subhead Jamie Lidell (Super_Collider) where notorious studio sessions quickly hammered out a raucous catalog of the first Subhead releases (“Punchy but weird...like us” - Phil Wells).

“Subhead‘s embrace and strangulation of hard-edged technology falls into no category or school, dropping only hints at Hip-Hop, Breakbeat, Freestyle and Electro backgrounds besides the obvious Techno functions. For spotters of Vogel, Landstrumm, Si Begg and Captain Beefheart, Subhead deeply delivers scalding but quirky and pumping raw funk-powered Hip-Hop hi-hat battles for the speaker phreaks. The music is as abstract as the people behind it with do-it-yourself indie-know-how letting the tracks speak for themselves. Gigging and putting out the latest Subhead sessions themselves have kept hardcore followers intrigued with Jason and Phil‘s uncompromising art of invisibility”.

“Underground and as tough and loud as Leach and Wells are known, Subhead‘s art attack breaks the dancefloor standards with everything between sampladelic freestyle and raucous bottomline Techno. Unbelievable while totally understandable.” Tresor Berlin

DAVE PATON - LIVE!

Dave Paton aka the wee djs runs thismachineisbroken and has released music on various labels including SCSI/AV, Gassoline, Input Output, Touchin' Bass, Spacebar Sentiments, Combat Recordings and Noodles amongst others ... writing music in Edinburgh, Scotland for more than 20 years.

STICK 430 - LIVE!

Substance favourites Stick 430 return to Edinburgh on top form following their excellent new Ravemore EP on Pest Control.

Stick 430 are made up of RV and RA aka Hektor Ruiez. RV has released on the excellent German label Bombtrap, while RA has been behind many respected Glasgow clubs, including Kube and Iridium, and has played alongside the likes of Tube Jerk, Hell, Glencross and Tarrida.

Together they generate a unique live show comprising metallic electroid stylings through to proper techno bass - always packed with attitude and guaranteed to rock the party.
