Dublin's stellar hard working DnB, dubstep & junglist collective Reach move into their 3rd year of promoting rocking bassbin wobblin events. Tonight's headline star is dubstep wonderman Kode 9, while in the basement stellar London DnB spinner Kenny Ken & Randall will be in the mix. This

KODE 9

Based in South London, Kode9s hyperdub sound is difficult to define, sometimes with beats, sometimes without, sometimes with a vocalist, sometimes without, the only continuity is the heavy sub bass. Currently, Kode9's DJ sets travel through a selection of dancehall influenced bass heavy skank, currently referred to as grime and dubstep. In 2006 he mixed the Dubstep Allstars Vol.3 CD compilation on Tempa records with vocalist Spaceape and released their debut album, 'Memories of the Future'.

Kode9 runs the record label Hyperdub (releasing artists such as the Spaceape, Warrior Queen, the Bug and Burial). For 4 years, he hosted the weekly Fwd>> show on Rinse FM, London's grime and dubstep pirate radio station, and is one of the rotating DJs at DMZ, the seminal dubstep night in London.

He has released tracks on Aphex Twin's Rephlex label, pioneering dubstep labels Tempa, Domino and his own Hyperdub imprint and has recently remixed artists such as the Junior Boys and Dabrye Feat.

KENNY KEN

Kenny Ken stared DJing in 1989, inspired by the early warehouse parties. During the day he worked as a ticket collector on the London Underground. Discovered by the Labrynth Rave organisation he started DJing at their parties as well as on pirate radio with Centreforce FM, and latterly Dance FM. His first big break came as a result of him being a regular attendee at an early Sunday morning rave called Crazy Larry's. The organisers also promoted the Crazy Club @ Busby's, and after some persuading Kenny became resident DJ. He then became resident at Sunday Roast and A.W.O.L, during which time he started producing his own tunes. His record labels include Mix 'n' Blen & Planet Funk Recordings (co-owned with DJ Mace), and he has also DJed for Radio 1 (One In The Jungle) and had his own show on Kiss FM. His Step-son is D'n'B DJ and Producer, Crissy Criss.

DJ RANDALL

Randall is what they call an original junglist. He’s the DJs DJ; ask either Andy C or Friction who inspired their DJing style, and they’ll say Randall. He started DJing in the mid 80s and after hearing acid house at Notting Hill Carnival in 1987 and fell in love with rave culture. After making a name for himself on pirate radio station Centreforce, and on the illegal rave circuit, Randall’s career took off with his legendary sets at AWOL and World Dance. He established himself as one of the elite of the emerging drum & bass scene, with an impeccable reputation behind the turntables that he has maintained to this day.
