Here are some release notes.......

• Third and final instalment of the mind-blowing
‘Fixxy’ series.
• Four new tracks from the ‘future of UK electro’
•Includes glitch-rap masterpiece ‘For the
haters’, featuring Dirty Diggers.

Additional Information (load of old bollocks):

Styge is a warm and comforting track, a complex and undeniably
musical way of saying to a friend ‘Look mate, I know things haven’t
been easy lately, but sometimes life’s just like that. Buck your ideas
up.’ The bass sound brings to mind a church organ, and makes you
feel Edmund’s warm arm across the back of your shoulders – with the
sparse sharp cymbals like Edmund’s long sharp fingernails gripping
tightly into your arm. Listen out for the vocal edits that sounds like the air
biting your ear.

With its spooky metallic sounds and haunting keys
that sound like an encoded cry for help from a forgotten people,
Charly sounds a lot like a message from outer space. Of course, it’s not
– Edmund is from Norfolk – but certain elements of the song, the
confusing beats, the curious change midway through, its agreeable
power to end your futile resistance, are other-worldly. I don’t want to
go into anything else I think about the track here, thank you.

For The Haters slams its opening beats into your head like a triumphant airman
thumping gloved fist into gloved palm – ‘By Jove, we got ‘im! The Blue
Baron’s copped it and no mistake!’. Victory and self-determination
are the powerful themes of this bass-driven hip-hop vocal offering from
an artist we’re more likely to associate with ambient electronica than the
cruel playgrounds of some god-awful urban place. The persistent, driving
vocals (which rhyme all the way through – well done boys!) are provided
as part of Brighton rap combo The Dirty Diggers’ community service
obligations.

Cut from a different, outlandish and weird cloth, is the
abstract journey through a troubled moodscape that is track 4 – Trapeze.
The hesitant keyboard sound stumbles through heavy and urgent
percussion before turning round and standing there slackjawed to
witness an imperial sunrise of such imposing strings that it loses track
of what it’s saying almost entirely. At first you think that Trapeze is the
kind of song that you can’t whistle, but almost immediately you’ll find a
way.

This marks the end of the Fixxy series, a three part project that
grew way, way beyond its original conception (as a two part project) to
be, literally, the only releases on the BaseLogic label, apart from one
other (the first one). A commemorative DVD of the project was to be
made available on the tenth anniversary of Edmund’s favourite school
holiday, but the project was scrapped as a result of there being nothing
whatsoever to put on it. Thanks for listening, and safe journey home.
